3 Essential Practices to Boost Immunity

It is the time. The time where sickness increases around the house!

As a Health Coach specializing in nutrition, yoga, breath work and mindset to support Mamas in feeling strong and confident in their bodies + Mama of 4 young kiddos 6 and under, I am in it! I understand and know what it's like to have the sickness run through the family BUT I also have tools that help boost my family's + clients immune system. 

Sharing with you my top 3 practices to support your immune health. 

  1. Breath work – my favorite tool! It is so powerful, so transformative and so simple! You have it right within you . Can’t get any better than that
    • My go to that I share with my clients is an elongated exhale…why?
    • It stimulates the parasympathetic mode – relaxtion system
    • The opposite of sympathetic – the creator of the response to stressful events that we want to reduce
    • Practice…
    • Inhale for 1-2-3-4 secs, HOLD 1-2-3-4, Exhale for 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8
    • Let’s practice together…
    • Do this 3-5x until you start feeling your body calming down
  2. Take a walk outside – my favorite twofer! Remember I shared with you I love tools that provide multiple benefits…so this is one
    • Walking outside – outside vitamin d – helps with depression, anxiety and also boosts immune system and bone health! So you get plenty of benefits
    • Take a moment to just breath and be in your body and walk
    • Fresh air is good to increase oxygen, get the oxgen flowing throughout your body
    • Walking releases the tension and get movement in your body
    • Benefits from vitamin D – releasing serotonin – the happy hormone

The next tool is meditation – this is to cleanse your energy, ground yourself.

  • This helps reduce and manage stress levels
  • Studies have shown the benefits of slowing down and meditating especially for the mind
    • So incorporating a meditative practice will help you in reducing and managing your stress
    • My favorite meditation is yoga nidra – another twofer! You are going to love my twofers! I have plenty of them
    • Yoga nidra is a meditation where you are consciously asleep but awareness is present receive the benefits of rest along with management of stress
      • 45 mins = 3 hours of sleep
      • This is a great way to end your day or if you need a midday recharge or reset
